Opening Doors to missions in Brazil |
Brazil
Brazil is a large country with a land mass that covers nearly half of South America. Much of the population lives in the Heartland, along the southern and southeastern coastal areas.
Brazil is famous for its beaches, coffee, the Amazon River and rainforest, Carnival in Rio, and the country's passion for samba, soccer....and so much more. It should be no surprise to find that a country that has Carnival in Rio also has a large number of people who struggle with homosexuality. An estimated 4 million homosexual men and women live in Brazil.
Exodus Brasil works to start and develop local ministries across the country of Brazil. The first work started in 1982 with a conference 1 Christian Encounter on Homosexuality. The second work was a second conference in 1986, called 2 Christian Encounter on Homosexuality. In 1994 Exodus Latinoamérica was formed to start and develop local ministries across all of Latin America. In 2002 Exodus Brasil was formed as a separate region to focus on work in Brazil.
What Can I Do?
Pray. God works through Exodus only when you pray. Exodus needs people who will pray for its ministry in Brazil. Will you send us a letter telling us that God has called you to pray?
Give. Exodus Brasil needs your financial support to develop their regional office with full-time staff and appropriate facilities. An additional $500 / month would have a signficant impact. What a difference it has made to Exodus North America to have a full-time Executive Director. Your gifts can bring the same blessing to Exodus Brasil . Will you give as God directs you? More information about giving is available here.
Participate. Some Christians feel they cannot participate because they have never been a homosexual. As a result, Exodus works without the resources that many other Christian ministries have received. We need people to bring their gifts and talents in ministry service and ministry development to Exodus—the potential harvest is vast, the workers are few. God has no other plan than to work through the people He has called. Will you let God use your gifts and talents at Exodus?
